Undoubtedly the most photographed place in Egypt, the epic Pyramids of Giza have been shot by people the world over since the inception of the camera.
My own goal when shooting this series, was not to come away with hi-end flawless shots, but for my images to feel like shots taken from a time much before my own.
Using expired film, and processing at lab in Cairo that would typically be far from desirable, my negatives were heavily damaged and carelessly handled – a situation I completely foresaw.
The end result is a series that is almost timeless. Photographs with no discernible date of origin, but only a few hints as to how they came to be.
Much likes the Pyramids of Giza themselves.
