About
The idea of travelling the world and taking photos of exotic locations generally conjures up images of stress-free island paradises. Being trapped in a snow covered hut in rural Pakistan may not sound like part of this ideal, but for freelance travel photographer Matthew Kovacs, it comes with the job.
Matthews photography and perpetual sense of wanderlust have led him down an unconventional path, from shooting major music festivals for Australia’s iconic Triple J radio station, to feature blogging for travel information empire Lonely Planet.
There’s no shortage to the amount of improbable tourist destinations he’s conquered either, Iraq, Chernobyl, Nicaragua, Kosovo have all been part of the itinerary.
When not travelling, Matthew operates out of Melbourne, Australia, running photography workshops and offering boutique analogue and alternative photography services.
